Black Computer Speaker Wires Into Stereo Wire Slots?

i have 2 wires coming out the back of my computer speakers, and i wish to put the stereo speakers as my computer speakers, the 2 wires are black, and ones black/white ish..if i cut the wire from the speaker, and split the wires and put them into the stereo speaker, will it work?!
just did it now, and worked! 
they’re loud! lol
